Compuquip Technologies acquires Tamayo & Associates – 2001

Overview: The management team of Tamayo & Associates, a systems integrator in the South Florida area for 13 years with over 35 customers, was looking for a way to grow the business to the next level but did not have the infrastructure or expertise to do so. The management team wanted to become part of a larger organization with the infrastructure and systems already in place but feared the dismantle of its current organization.

Challenge: Seamlessly integrate the customers and employees with the established Compuquip Technologies employees and infrastructure. The main goal was to bring in the current employees to allow continuity of service but to leverage the synergies between the two companies.

Benefits: Ignacio Tamayo, founder and CEO of Tamayo & Associates, is now able to focus on sales and dealing with the customers while alleviating himself of the everyday pains of running the business. Tamayo & Associates’ clients are now offered more products and services while dealing with the same individuals.

Outcome: Ignacio Tamayo is currently a Senior Technology Consultant for Compuquip Technologies and all of the Tamayo & Associates’ clients are now Compuquip Technologies clients.

Compuquip Technologies acquires Fox Service Systems – 1999

Overview: Fox Service Systems was a successful business of 23 years with an excellent customer base and unique product and service offering. The company was approached by Capital America to discuss incorporating Fox Service Systems clients and employees into the Compuquip Technologies model.

Challenge: Leveraging the synergies of the combined companies by incorporating all the employees and clients into the Compuquip Technologies infrastructure.

Benefits: Fox Service Systems clients are now offered more comprehensive technology solutions with a broader platform and continue to deal with the same employees. Jim McClain, founder and CEO of Fox Service Systems, is able to concentrate on his customers and their needs while allowing the Compuquip Technologies management to handle the nuances of running the business. Additionally, the employees of Fox Service Systems now have access to better benefits under the Compuquip Technologies plan.

Outcome: Jim McClain is currently a Senior Technology Consultant for Compuquip Technologies and all of the Fox Service Systems’ clients are now Compuquip Technologies clients.
